Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This is where you should answer the most common questions prospective customers might have. It’s a good idea to cover things like your return policy, product warranty info, shipping and returns, etc. Check out the examples below.

What do I need to bring?

You should bring sandals to wear when you are not on the mats.  Girls and women should bring a white t-shirt to wear under their gi.

Do I need to bring a gi?

We rent gi’s here for $2 per class and we also sell them on site.

How are the classes structured?

We have all different skill levels on the mat during each class from people with no experience to people who have been doing judo for many years. Each class begins with everyone bowing in and warming up together. Then, the new students will be taken off to the side with a coach where they will work on the fundamentals such as how to roll and fall properly. Once they become comfortable with the fundamentals, they will then join the others in the proper skill level on the mat.

Do you have to attend all classes?

You can come any number or combination of days, whatever fits your schedule. Of course, the more often you attend class, the faster you will be promoted.

Do you have to compete in tournaments?

We encourage tournament participation but do not require it. Our coaches teach tournament play and rules. We generally hold 2-3 grassroots tournaments each year.

Do I need to know martial art to start?

No, you don’t. There are beginner’s who start throughout the year and many of the people who study Judo, Aikido or Kempo have no prior martial arts training.  You will be taught the basics and then be integrated into the classes.  Everyone is very nice and helpful!
